Arthur Rimbaud School, Montpellier (France)

Our school was built in 1972, in a land which was vine cultures before it became a school. Located in the north-west of sunny Montpellier, on the Mediterranean coastline of France. In 2002, the school got its own gymnasium.

The school’s name is Arthur Rimbaud. He was a French poet who started writing very young and he stopped at 20 years old. The most famous poems are Le Dormeur du Val (The Sleeper in the Valley), Le Bateau Ivre (The Drunken Boat), Une Saison en Enfer (A Season in Hell), and Illuminations.

The school offers many foreign language options such as English, German, Spanish, Arabic, and South Korean. It is also possible to pick Latin and Ancient Greek. Sports are important for us so we have three teams swimming, handball and judo.

At Arthur Rimbaud’s, there are almost 1.000 students and a hundred staff.
