Tuoro del Trasimeno

Tuoro del Trasimeno is a city in the province of Perugia (Italy) on the northern shores of the lake Trasimeno.

In a museum about the battle of Trasimeno, it’s possible to discover all the information about this event of the second Punic War which took place in 217 BC between the army of Hannibal and the Roman legions.

Hannibal, famous for his tactical capacities, took advantage of the place to ambush the Roman army helped by overconfident consul Flaminius who had probably not protected his army enough with strong scout soldiers activity.

Tuoro is also a perfect place to discover the beauty of nature in this area and start walking on the lake’s edges.
