Cooperation, friendliness and professionalism were the keywords of this first mobility of the BESH project
The first mobility of the BESH project ends after 3 days of constructive and friendly seminars. The objective of these days was to get to know each other better, to unite the team around the project’s finalities and activities and to introduce the partner colleges Arthur Rimbaud from Montpellier and Condorcet from Nîmes as well as to unveil the rich Languedoc heritage.

Around twenty representatives of the BESH project partners participated during these 3 days, not counting the French students who presented their work products, the speakers who shared their knowledge on certain points of the program, as well as the management teams and staff of the two host colleges, who must be warmly thanked for their welcome and availability. A big thank you also to the members of the project team in Cartagena who enabled the successful completion of this mobility in which they did not have the chance to participate themselves, due to a simple question of ratio in the number of participants.
On arrival, the participants were able to discover the different facilities and the life of the two host colleges, welcomed and guided by the management teams. Through the rather ambitious program of this mobility, the participants were able to discover and appropriate the different educational tools made available to them as part of the project: comics and associated activities, digital tools such as Canva and Geoproject, tutorials, the new website and its administration process, the Hannibal Road file, and a set of posters offered by the Association Hannibal Barca. The teams of the colleges Arthur Rimbaud and Condorcet and their students presented the achievements and feedback from last year on the previous ‘Anibal en Europa’ project, from a literary and scientific multidisciplinary perspective: e.g., Geoproject stories, mock-ups, thematic cards, Canva views and quizzes. The educational resources, as well as the methodology and the organization of their good integration into school courses, were highlighted and discussed. In addition, Khaled Melliti expert in Punic history provided a fascinating introduction to the history of Carthage and its empire, the 2nd Punic War and the character of Hannibal Barca.
To enhance this winter stay, the host colleges have pulled out all the stops: gastronomy and historical heritage have not been forgotten.
This mobility has fulfilled all its objectives in a very high percentage. The BESH project partners now have the resources in hand for deployment in their classes. Though a lot of work has been done, the adventure has only just begun, and the framework has been set for the next events of the BESH project: Hannibal Day 2024, 2nd mobility in Cartagena, dissemination, etc. The seeds have been sown, and Italian, Spanish and French teachers now have the freedom to invent on these bases the best ways to involve their students in the project and to share with them the European values supported by this Erasmus+ project.
