With the launch of the 2021-2-ESO1-KA210-SCH-000048512 project called ‘Anibal en
Europa’ (Hannibal in Europe), a serious and professional attempt were being made to
organise promotional activities for the Carthaginians and Romans Festival in schools,
prioritising quality over quantity from a pedagogical and educational perspective.
In line with this approach, the coordinating team collaborated with the Department of
Education and launched an educational programme in the 2022/23 school year with the
same name as the project, ‘Anibal en Europa’.
With the completion of the educational project, this objective was maintained during the
implementation of the Erasmus + project ‘BESH’, which was created as a continuation of
the previous one. In the last two school years, the Department of Education’s educational
programme has culminated in a visit to the Festival Camp by the classrooms participating
in it.
This visit includes transport for schools located far from the camp, assistance from
monitors who explain what the camp is like, and ends with a small snack in the protocol
tent.
This year, almost 800 students visited the camp between Monday 22nd and Wednesday
24th September and enjoyed this fun and engaging activity for both students and teachers.
Thanks to the thirty or so teachers who accompanied them and collaborated with the
monitors, we were able to showcase the great attractions of the Carthaginians and
Romans Festival House.
